Objectives

To provide a safe platform for children and teenagers to express their thoughts, questions, ideas, and concerns about AI, fostering active participation and dialogue.

To empower children and teenagers by valuing their opinions and ideas, making them feel heard and respected in discussions about technology that affects their future.

To foster critical thinking skills by encouraging children and teenagers to analyse the benefits and challenges of AI technology.

To arouse adults’ awareness about children and teenagers’ difficulties in managing their humanity with AI all-around them.
 

Features

Engaging Themes: Students will express their views on AI’s impact on different aspects, such as Education, Wellbeing, Safety & Security, Diversity, and Future Career.

Multilingual Presentations: Students will express their ideas in the language they are most comfortable with, ensuring their voices resonate powerfully with the audience.

3-Minute Spotlight: Each student will captivate the audience with their unique insights in just three minutes—short, sweet, and impactful!

If you are interested in participating in the Kids’ AI Summit, please complete the Register Your Interest form below. We will notify the eligible applicants in mid-June.

 

Rules and Regulations for the Kids’ AI Summit

  1. The Kids’ AI Summit is open to all primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong, aged 6 to 15.
  2. The event is free of charge for all participants.
  3. This summit is not a competition, so there is no selection process.
  4. Interested participants must complete the registration form. The eligible participants will be notified in mid-June.
  5. Participants will be notified of their acceptance and assigned time slots following the registration period.
  6. Once the time slot is confirmed, it cannot be changed or exchanged with another participant.
  7. Absence from the assigned timeslot will not be assigned a new timeslot.
  8. Only notified participants with an assigned timeslot will be allowed on stage. Timeslot cannot be changed.
  9. Each participant will have 3 minutes to present on a topic related to AI.
  10. Presentations can be delivered in Cantonese, Putonghua or English.
  11. Participants may express their views any aspect of AI: (1) AI & Education, (2) AI & Children’s Wellbeing, (3) AI & Children’s Safety & Security, (4) AI & Diversity, Equality & Accessibility, (5) AI & Future Career.
  12. There is no preparation area on the show floor.
  13. Participants are required to dress appropriately for the event.
  14. Parents are welcome to attend the summit to support their children. They need to register for the Learning & Teaching Expo online.
  15. Parents are advised to be in the audience area to support students on stage.
  16. All participants and audience are expected to maintain a respectful behaviour throughout the event. Leaving the venue before the presentations of the respective session conclude is not recommended.
  17. All participants will receive a certificate of participation following their presentations.
